Yep, Tom. At your local hardware store you can probably buy a special screw and washer part (less than $5.00. U.S.) intended to temporarily fix pinholes in water pressure level tanks.

Watch out though: often a pinhole on the outside wall of the tank will be found to exist a bigger pigsty when yous get-go messing with it - because the tank is corroding from the inside (ordinarily) the expanse of sparse walled steel may be bigger than you remember.

Purchase several repair screws of varying size and start with a small one to meet if that can screw in tightly enough to stop the leak. If it won't, y'all'll need to utilize a larger screw.

Welding is technically possible simply not economical, and a repair epoxy might work with good surface cleaning provided you could take the tank out of service long enough and proceed it dry during the gluing procedure, but like the petty Dutch boy with a finger in the surface of the dike, that's not the most reliable repair.
